Rounding Times Down to the Nearest 30 Seconds


Problem:

Rounding the times ("hh:mm:ss") in column A down to the nearest 30 seconds.

Solution 1:

Use the ROUNDDOWN function as shown in the following formula:
=ROUNDDOWN(A2*24*120,0)/(120*24)

Solution 2:

Use the FLOOR function as shown in the following formula:
=FLOOR(A2,1/(24*120))
