About Dashboard:

This dashboard focuses on real time visibility of the data & insights of Human Resource department of an organization.

With this dashboard, we can view various human resource statistics that automatically gets updated like headcount, payroll, salary distribution, employee numbers & sickness related information.

There are several ways in which you can visualize HR data to understand the objectives. In October, Excel Forum team launched a dashboard, competing in which you are asked to visualize data using sample data. The challenge has generated a huge thrill around the community and fetched 118 incredible entries.

Thanks everyone for participating and making this a huge learning experience for everyone. Excel Forum team has learned several useful dashboard and charting tricks.

In this article, we will show you the steps on how to create this dashboard.

Let us see how the Dashboard made by Moheb Mohammad Ali looks:

We have divided this dashboard into 5 sections of information. Let us take a look at each one separately.

This is an interactive dashboard &mainly covers two sections:

1)    Employee Detail

2)    Department Detail

If you are interested in knowing the Employee details including department, hire date, salary & others, then you need to select the employee & details will be updated automatically.

Department details include net payable amount, total sick days, average sick days, average salary, and number of employees. With a single selection from the list, the department information will be instantly changed.

Section1:

This section will cover employee related information.

From the drop down list, you need to select the employee & the information of that employee like department, hire date, salary, bonus, overtime, sick days, and performance score will get updated.

Section2:

This section shows department related information.

From the drop down list, you need to select the department & the information of that department such as net payable amount, total sick days, average sick days, average salary and number of employees will get updated.

Section3:

The following picture will show payroll breakdown of Sales, IT, Accounting, Customer Support, R&D, Marketing, Human Resources, Administration& Finance.

Section4:

The following picture will show the number of employees by salary in percentage, through charts.

Section5:

This section provides headcount for all the departments in percentage, through pie chart.

Using this dashboard we can get a clear view of the Human Resource and thus we can get the information from various points of view.
