Saving The Current Workbook With A New Filename

Sometimes while working on your workbook, you will realise that you may need to have multiple versions of the same file since you are not sure which format you want finally.  Or there are chances that you are working on a big project which can ultimately involve lots of changes.  Instead of risking completely spoiling your original file, you can do this -

  1. Open the original workbook
  2. Click File, Save As and enter a new name and Click Save.

The original file will now be safe in its original location and your open file is now the renamed original file.  You can also save your file with version numbers like version1, version 2, etc which will assist you in finding the version you want.
