In this article, we’ll learn the difference between currency and accounting in Microsoft Excel. Though both are very similar to each other but still there are few differences in between both formatting.
Let’s take an example and understand:
We have premium data, in which we have month wise amount details of premium amount, received amount and revenue amount.
First we’ll learn about Currency format:
*The Currency format places the dollar sign right next to the number.
Accounting Format:
*The Accounting format aligns the dollar signs at the left edge of the cell.
Note: The Currency format can display negative numbers with a minus sign, in red, with parentheses, or in red with parentheses. The Accounting format displays negative numbers in parentheses.
