It will be ready for user to enter the data/text into spreadsheet. Template saves a lot of time as it is easy to apply to the worksheet you are working on.

How to create templates?

Instead of creating an Excel workbook from scratch, you can create a workbook based on a template. There are many free templates available, waiting to be used.

Existing Templates:

Follow below given steps to create a workbook based on an existing template:

  • Click on File tab > click on New

  • Choose any template, we have selected family budget (monthly)

  • Click on create, template will be created in Excel file

Note: Excel creates a workbook of template and also stores the template in the template folder. We can access this folder by clicking on My templates.
