If you have to work on a workbook that is password protected. Here is a trick that you can follow.
Sign in Gmail account
Open the Google Drive
Click on Upload arrow key
Then it will ask for Files & Folder option
Click on Files & then select the file where it is saved.
After uploading is done, click on the file (Protected file in our example)
Click on Open button
The file will be opened in Google spreadsheet
Click on File menu > Download as > Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) format
The file will be saved on your hard disk which is now unprotected.
In this way, we can easily work around the password protected workbook.
